Access Control Policies:
It has come to our attention that the attempted exploitation by various Individuals and Organizations connected to the internet, has facilitated the need to create ACL's to limit their attempted exploitation of our Hardware, Bandwidth and System resources.
The most perturbing fact that the attempted exploitations are on the rise and is largely due to ill trained Administrators, Companies with bad Network Policy, Junkmailers, uninformed end users and poorly written Software, that allow their Host Systems and resources to be used as weapons to endanger / damage other networks.
Common courtesy and responsibility appears to be on the wane, thus forcing us to Publish and apply strict rules to traffic entering and leaving our Networks. This Policy covers all traffic services and protocols currently available on the Internet, that may access our network. Certain types of attempted unauthorized access is considered more of a nuisance, than others which are attempted intrusion attempts.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:1. Access Policy
Customers with at least one full rack will be issued a 24 hour access badge. All other customers will have escorted access during normal business hours (9AM-6PM) with a labor charge of $25 per visit with one FREE visit per month. Emergency escorted access during non-business hours is billed hourly at the rate of $50 per hour.
2. IP Address Assignment
We may provide up to Four IP address per server at no charge. Additional IP’s may be assigned for $12 per IP, per year. Also note that ONE port on our switch is assigned to each customer.
3. SPAM Policy
Unsolicited email (SPAM) is not permitted on our network due to the administrative problems it causes. We reserve the right to terminate service to any customer who engages in SPAM activities. To report network abuse, send email to abuse@data-wireless.com. All reports of abuse will be investigated within 24 hours. Customers will be given 1 warning prior to service interruption. There will be no refunds after service has been interrupted. We reserve the right to charge $150 per complaint.
The new federal "Can-Spam" law, effective January 1st, 2004, allows for direct email marketing according to the specific provisions of the law. Any email advertisements which do not meet the specific requirements of the law are illegal and considered to be SPAM.
